Thank you for praying for us!

Friends & Family, We hope this update finds you well! We enjoyed celebrating Resurrection Sunday this month and hope you did too! We were able to attend our home church for Easter Sunday.

Since we have been home we have been able to visit a couple others churches as well. Wes has been blessed with substitute teaching jobs which is a big praise! This month we were able to attend a Roma Bible study. These Roma people were from Romania and it was an awesome learning experience!

What would you give up to see the gospel spread?

Recently I (Rebekah) have been able to spend time with a (retired) missionary, Melba, who is now in assisted living not far from where we live. Some background: she spent most of her life serving the Lord in a tribe with her husband and now her son and his family are in missions. That son is a missionary in Southeast Asia and I was able to listen as she talked with him and his family. As she was talking with them she said something that brought me to tears and if you know me well that is not a common occurrence. She said “son, some days I cry and cry because I miss you all so much, but don’t you even think about coming home for me. You are taking the gospel to those that need it and that is more important than me”. She gleamed with pride as she said this with tears rolling down her cheeks. I was floored, this woman already gave so much and yet was still giving. What a faithful and strong woman to view the gospel being spread as more important than her having her family in her elderly years when she needs them most. I was so struck by this because on the other side of the world they left their mom to spread His name. As we get ready to head overseas this weighs so heavy on my heart. He is more important than my comfort, I continue to repeat this to myself as I know how much I’ll miss my family. I hope one day I can be as faithful and strong as this woman of God. I hope I can give up my kids and grandkids for the gospel. I hope I can give everything I have to see the gospel spread to the ends of the earth. We may not have much to offer but God can use us and he can use you.

We are speaking at Bethany Baptist & Wadham’s Baptist in Michigan in May! Launch training in Orlando, Fl in June! That traveling would go smoothly and safely.
