How Do You Eat An Elephant?

Wesley and I have been going through a devotional book together this year. Recently we read a section tilted “How do you eat an elephant?”. This section was about reaching your dreams. It used Nehemiah as an example to show you must investigate (prepare), announce (be motivated enough to tell others) and defend (with determination) your dream. It answered the question of how to eat an elephant by answering how do you fulfill your dreams? One bite at a time.
As we stare the “100%” mark of support raising in the face we see our “elephant”. How can we reach something that seems so far away? One step (or bite) at a time. This devotion was a great encouragement to us. It doesn’t matter how big the task is or how far away it might seem. God has not asked us to raise the funds in a day or even 6 months. God has asked us to give our burdens and worries to him, He is not the one giving us stress. We do that all on our own, when we compare ourselves to others or set unreasonable standards for ourselves. We can get caught up in thinking we aren’t moving fast enough or we aren’t doing it right at all. We often forget our God is gracious and He is the ultimate provider. Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” It is all in his timing and for His glory, so as we remember this we will continue to eat our elephant one bite at a time.

Thank you! We have reached 19% monthly support! If you are interested in hearing more about where the Lord is leading us please do not hesitate to reach out! We want to hear from you!

Time flies! Reese was 1 month on February 5th! Reese loves to smile in her sleep, go for stroller walks and take lots of naps! We couldn’t be more in love with her!
Please pray for Reese and Rebekah. Reese had a procedure done to revise her tongue and lip tie. Reese has to relearn how to latch when she nurses with different exercises, time and patience. Thank you for all your prayers and support. Love, Wesley, Rebekah & Reese Davey
